Lyn LemonsLyn Lemons, 70, died Wednesday, September 18, 2019, at her home. She was born in Tupelo on June 29, 1949, to Carroll and Earline Grisham Lemons. She and her sisters, Jan and Cyndi, grew up around the family business, Tupelo Flying Service, located at Lemons Field which is now known as the Tupelo Regional Airport. Lyn had a very diverse career path. She flew planes, worked as a welder, and even did a stint as a lumberjack all before finding her true calling as a registered nurse. Lyn spent most of her twenty five year nursing career in Beaumont, TX rising to the rank of Director of Nursing before returning to Tupelo in 2003 to be closer to her family, especially her growing number of grandchildren, Lyn loved her grandchildren deeply and was affectingly known to them as “Banana”. Lyn also had a love for animals, especially her dogs. Lyn accomplished great things, made many friends and touched countless lives in her short seventy years on this earth. She will be greatly missed as a mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

She is survived by her children, Heath Hershfelt and his wife, Toni of Tupelo, Leigh Cruse and husband, Clay of Mooreville and Jef Hershfelt of Tupelo; two sisters, Jan Graham and husband, Jamey of Austin, TX and Cyndi Bryant and husband, Ed of Jackson, TN; seven grandchildren, Hayden, Hayes, Perry, Ruby, Sage, Grey and Grisham; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant son, Don Phillip Hershfelt.

At Lyn’s request, there will be no service.

Memorials may be made to the Tupelo – Lee Humane Society.
