Betty Carine Butler Putman

Betty Putman Betty Carine Butler Putman, 88, of Lexington, passed away Sept. 18, at Helen Keller Hospital.  Along with raising two children and being a devout wife of 70 years, Mrs. Putman worked in the knitting industry for 40 plus years.  She was also an active member of Nebo Cumberland Presbyterian Church and volunteered endless hours of her time to the church and community.  Mrs. Putman had a natural green thumb.  Her talents could be witnessed throughout the year in the yard and also in the bouquets featured on Sunday mornings at Nebo Church.

 

Survivors Include:

Husband:  Mayburn Putman

Son:   Keith Putman (Mary)

Daughter:  Dede Putman

Brother:  Tony Griffin

Sister:   Malene Putman

 

Preceded in death by:

Father:  Morris Butler

Step-father:  Allen Griffin

Mother:  Annie Mae Kennedy Griffin

 

Visitation will be on Friday, Sept. 20, from 11:00-1:00pm at Nebo Cumberland Presbyterian Church.  The funeral service will be at 1:00pm at the church with Bro. Kevin Balch & Bro. Terry Herston officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

 

Pallbearers will be:  Larry Putman, Mike Stanolevich, Ray Dollar, Rhett Butler, Grant Roberson, C.L. Hubbard, Hal Putman, Barry Beavers & Lannie Holcombe.

 

The family would like to especially thank: Nurses & staff at Helen Keller Hospital and all of her family and friends.
