Monique Chevon Richardson Whitfield

Monique Chevon Richardson Whitfield died Monday, Sept. 16, 2019, at the North MS Medical Center in Tupelo. She was 39. She was born on August 29, 1980 in Cook County, Illinois, the daughter of Floyd Richardson, Jr. and Mary Canady Richardson. She moved to the area several years ago to earn her B.A. in Communication at Mississippi State University. She was a member of the White Hill M.B. Church in Tupelo and did data entry for Tupelo School District at Pierce Street School.

Monique is survived by her husband David. M. Whitfield of Tupelo, and daughters Briana and Kayla, of the home; parents, Floyd Richardson of Louisiana, and Mary Richardson of Okolona, MS; sister Marla Richardson of Tupelo; nephews Marquise Rivera and Jalen Rivera, and niece Marniqua Sharp; and her mother-in-law Joyce Danner, sister-in-law Chenelle Danner, and brother-in-law Jatari Danner, all of Hamilton, MS.

Celebration of life services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2019 at Whitehill M.B. Church, 1987 S. Eason Blvd, Tupelo, MS. Pastor Jeffrey Daniels will officiate. Visitation will be held Friday, Sept. 27, 2019 from 5 – 7 p.m. at the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors.
