Vickie Stewart of Huntsville passed away Sunday after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.  Vickie was a devoted mother to her two sons. She loved children and taught at West Madison Elementary and Liberty Middle school as an aide and nurse before moving to Huntsville in 1992, becoming part of the management team at McDonald’s, where she worked alongside her Dad Wally Stewart. She later worked as a Corporate Day Care Director.

She is preceded in death by her parents Wallace R. Stewart & Mildred P. Stewart; brother Wallace R. Stewart Jr.; sister Joann Stewart and nephew Eric Whitworth.

Vickie is survived by her sons Dale Dowdy (Lisa) and Jamie Dowdy (Nicole); her sisters Patty Stewart Jordan (Tommy) and Brenda Stewart White (Chuck); her grandson Dalton Dowdy and step granddaughter Grace Dutton; nieces and nephews Brandy Patton, Collin White (Rachel), Chris Brizendine, Rachel Underwood, Matthew and Sarah Jordan, Blake Boyles and great nephew/niece Will Patton and Chloe Foutch.

Memorial services for Vickie will be held at 5:00 pm Friday, September 13th, 2019 with visitation beginning at 4:00 pm at Berryhill Funeral Home, Huntsville.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a Tribute donation to the Alzheimer’s Association of Huntsville in memory of Vickie at alz.org.
