Mr. Luther “Wayne” Coggin left his earthly home for his heavenly home on September 8, 2019. He was born on June 28, 1942, in Birmingham Alabama. Mr. Coggin was predeceased by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Luther Washington Coggin, Sr (Barbaree), sister Esther Coggin Ash and husband, Wayne, all of Birmingham, Alabama; sister, Jeanne Holdren of Jacksonville, Florida and granddaughter, Mary Katherine Grace Wells also of Jacksonville, FL.
He is survived by his best friend and loving wife of 56 years, Helen Henry Coggin of Albertville, Al, three daughters; Susan Coggin Trawick of Orange Beach, Al, Teresa Coggin Hester (Alan) of Greenville, Al, and Paige Coggin of Jacksonville, FL. He is also survived by brothers; Derrick Coggin (Gail), Gainesville, Ga., Mark Coggin, Sr (Charlotte) of Birmingham, Al, and Luther Washington Coggin, Jr (Blanche) of Jacksonville Beach, FL and brother-in-law James Henry (Della) of Albertville, Al. He leaves behind eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Mr. Coggin graduated from Woodlawn High School and after attending the University of Montevallo, Wayne spent his entire career in the automotive industry. He loved the Lord with all his heart and was a faithful member of Brashers Chapel Church.
Mr. Coggin’s Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at Brashers Chapel Church, Albertville, Al at 11:30 with Visitation before the service 10:30-11:30.
