Mrs. Mary Francis May, 69, passed away at her home Monday September 9, 2019, from a lingering illness, surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 16, 1950 to Willie and Mary Magdalene York Gore who preceded her in death. She was a babysitter for many years and for the last twenty years she was a cafeteria worker at Van Buren County High School. She attended Mooneyham Free Will Baptist Church.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by grandchildren; Marykay Hale, Charley Addison Caldwell and Angel May, brothers; Joe Varner, Willie Gore and Eugene Gore, sisters; Mary Looney, Sue and Patricia Gore.
Mary is survived by her loving husband of 42 years; Harvey May of Spencer, sons; Harvey (Angela) May Jr. of Spencer, Clarence (Paula) May of Pikeville, daughters; Audrey Hale and Cassie Hillis of Spencer, brothers; Issac and Donnie Gore, grandchildren; Willard Hale Jr., Candice Hale, Cayleigh Caldwell, Cami Caldwell, Aubrey May and Clara May, great-grandson; Logan Hale, step-grandchildren; Joey and Kayla Turner, father-in-law; Dewey May.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday September 11, 2019 at 3:00pm in the Layne Chapel with Bro. Wayne Sullivan officiating. Burial will follow in the Spencer Town Cemetery. Visitation times are Tuesday from 4:00pm till 9:00pm and Wednesday from 10:00am till time of service at 3:00pm.
