Shirley Mae Carroll was born January 27, 1939 in Dyersburg, TN the daughter of the late Jim Lee Carroll and Lena Mae French Carroll Lowery.

Miss Carroll was a long-time resident of Buffalo River Services in Waynesboro and a member of the Waynesboro church of Christ. She enjoyed going on outings with her Buffalo River family, knitting pot holders, making cards during the holidays, and attending church on Sundays. Miss Carroll loved music; she especially enjoyed listening to Elvis Presley. She was a humble Christian lady who truly loved people and loved life.

Miss Carroll departed this life on September 5, 2019 in Columbia, Tennessee at the age of 80 Years, 7 Months, 9 Days. She is survived by two brothers, Danny Carroll and Michael Carroll, both of Booneville, MS; four sisters: Debra Stewart of Booneville, MS, Jo Ann McDonald and husband Ricky of Corinth, MS, Judy Prater and husband Edward of Ripley, TN, and Linda Byrum and husband Allie of Jackson, TN; special niece Bonnie Buress and husband Danny of Dyersburg, TN; step-brother Charles Davis of Booneville, MS; step-sister Brenda Hoard of Booneville, MS; and many other nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Miss Carroll was preceded in death by three brothers: James (Jim) Carroll, Jr., Thomas Mack Carroll, and Billy Ray Carroll; and two sisters, Betty Hooper and Brenda Byrum.

Services will be held on September 9, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Selmer, Tennessee, with Jeff Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Piney Grove Cemetery at Booneville, Mississippi.
