Beta Beta Beta Honor Society FLORENCE – The University of North Alabama’s chapter Beta Zeta of Beta Beta Beta, also known as Tri-Beta, will have its’ monthly meeting Sept. 10 at 5 p.m. in room 136 of the Mitchell Burford Science and Technology Building.

This month’s meeting is open to the community as three UNA alumni, Jason Floyd, Nicole

Gallups, and Natalie Lindgren, return to campus to share details regarding their doctoral work at The University of Alabama at Birmingham. Each was also a member of UNA’s Beta Zeta chapter of Tri-Beta. Attendees will have an opportunity to network with others and learn about Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math, or STEM, fields open to graduates.

“While we recognize that a graduate student in art, for example, would have a different day-to- day than someone in STEM, there is still valuable advice to be gained through the presentation, such as managing private and school lives, application and interview processes, and coping with graduate school in a new city,” said Dr. Lisa Ann Blankinship an Associate Professor in UNA’s Biology Department. “These would be universal bits of wisdom and perspectives applicable to many diverse students.”

Tri-Beta is the biological honor society that provides students and others to hear from professionals about their careers. The organization meets twice monthly on the first and third Thursday.
