Mark Douglas RobertsMark Douglas Roberts, 58 of Huntsville, Alabama passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday.

Mark was born in Jonesboro, Arkansas to Jerry and Mildred Roberts. He graduated from Huntsville High in 1979 and went on to earn his Electrical Engineering degree from UAH. He worked for many technology companies in Huntsville, founded several technology companies and most recently served as CEO for Cedar Ridge Research, Correlated Magnetics Research, and Lateral IP. Mark was an amazing entrepreneur and inventor. As untimely as his death was, he had truly reached the peak of his life and found happiness in the past year with all his kids having gone to college, enjoying his newfound relationship, and had a reinvigorated sense of purpose.

Mark is survived by his sons, Patrick Roberts and Andrew Roberts; stepdaughter, Randall Mummert; stepson, Will Mummert; mother, Mildred Roberts; sister, Joni Grounds; nieces, Maria Miles Andrews, Victoria Miles Nance, Ashley Miles and Christina Miles; and fiancé, Sharon Daniel. He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Mac Roberts.

Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. on Saturday at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. A celebration of Mark’s life will follow in the chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to STEM education to Inspire & Achieve (www.inspireandachieve.net), or to Veterans Services to Still Serving Veterans (www.ssv.org).
