Dorothy “Dot” Helton, 93, of Iuka, Mississippi, passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2019, at Tishomingo Manor Nursing Home in Iuka. Mrs. Dot was a RN for 50 plus years, working in hospitals, doctors’ offices, and retired as a school nurse in Rolling Fork, MS. She was a member of Iuka Baptist Church. She is survived by her Kathy Stewart Broome of Tallahassee, FL; her son, Wade Stewart (Terry) of Brandon, MS; her granddaughters, Ragan Broome Coddington (Ben) of Lutz, FL and Jennifer Stewart Ebke (Scott) of Hattiesburg, MS; her grandsons, Robert Park Broome of Tallahassee, FL and Morgan Wade Stewart; and her great grandchildren, Gatlin Coddinton, Emersyn Coddington, McKinleigh Ebke, Aniston Reese Ebke, Mary Morgan Stewart, Hadlee Stewart, and Myles Broome. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andy Helton, Jr.; her parents, Guy and Della Hogue; her brother, Guy Hogue, Jr.; and her sisters, Sweetum Schmitt and Mary Manning. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 30, 2019 from 10am until 11am at the Iuka Baptist Church. Services will be held on Friday, August 30, 2019 at 11am at the Iuka Baptist Church. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Park Broome, Morgan Stewart, Scott Ebke, Brooks Davis, and Tom Provins. Honorary pallbearers will be Ben Kitchens, MD, Pete Walker, Earl Walker, Ronny Stricklen, Hugh Van Presley, Doug Cutshall, and Eugene “Peanut” Thorn. Memorials may be made in Dot’s honor to Tishomingo Manor Nursing Home at 230 Kaki Street, Iuka, MS 38852, to the Iuka Baptist Church at 105 West Eastport Street, Iuka, MS 38852, or to your favorite charity.
