Betty Ruth Norwood , age 81 of Five Points, TN passed away Friday August 23, 2019 at Home surrounded by family and friends after a extended illness. She was born October 4, 1937, she was a native of Lawrence Co,TN and the daughter of Floyd and Minnie Cox. She was a hairdresser, cook for Crockett Hospital, and a homemaker who loved and cared for her family unconditionally She was a member of Blooming Grove Missionary Baptist Church.. Funeral Services will be held at Loretto Memorial Chapel on Monday, August 26, 2019 at 11:00 AM. Ken Howard will be officiating. Burial will follow in Centerpoint Baptist Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday, August 25, 2019 at Loretto Memorial Chapel.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Floyd and Minnie Cox; her husband: Bobby Norwood; daughterReda Faye Norwood, Four brothers: Ed Cox, Charlie Cox, Clarence Cox, James “Sager” Cox and three sisters: Ruby Truell, Sybil Peppers, and Linda ” Winnie” Miller.
She is survived by her sons Neal Norwood and Ricky Norwood of Five Points, TN. one brother Carl Gene “Monk” Cox of Decatur, AL;
Four grandchildren:Candace Ellis (Brandon Tidwell) of Five Points, TN, Stacey Goats (Brian) of Columbia, TN, Bobby Norwood (Brittney Donaldson) of Oakland, TN, andJamie Norwood (Hope) of Five Points, TN.
Four great-grandchildren: Gage and Paige Ellis, Graham Goats, and Elvie Rose Norwood.
