MADISON COUNTY-On Saturday, August 24 Madison County Sheriff Kevin Turner issued a statement regarding a shooting that took place in Toney resulting in the death of one person and another person who has been seriously injured:
“At around 1230 today (Saturday, August 24) Madison County Sheriff’s Office patrol deputies responded to the 200 block of Barberry Lane Toney AL in reference to three 911 calls for an in progress domestic dispute.
Deputies arrived to find a juvenile outside of the residence with his hands raised walking toward them. Deputies detained him and then found two gunshot victims inside the residence. The victims, an adult and a juvenile were transported by ambulance to Huntsville Hospital where the adult was pronounced deceased. The juvenile victim was airlifted to Children’s Hospital Birmingham where he remains in critical condition.
The detained juvenile was transported to criminal investigations division and after interviews was arrested as an adult for murder and attempted murder, then booked into the Madison County Metro Jail. All involved were immediate family members. Identities are not being released pending family member notifications. Further information may be released at a later date.”
