FLORENCE-On Thursday, August 22 the Florence Police received a call around 6:20 PM from a fisherman who discovered a body floating in the Tennessee River at McFarland Park on Cypress Creek.
The deceased man was pulled from the water and the Police say the man has been identified. Police say the person that was found in the Tennessee River on 8/22/2019 at approximately 6 pm is Walter J Bailey, W/M, 51 years of age, from Florence. The investigation into his death is still under investigation. Investigators say they do not have any more updates at this time.
Alabama Marine Police along with the Florence Police Department are handling the investigation.
