Rev. Robert "Buddy" O.L. ChamnessRev. Robert “Buddy” O.L. Chamness, age 87, of Arab the Brashiers Chapel Community, passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at Marshall Medical Center North.
Rev. Chamness was born on August 23, 1931 in Marshall County to Ollie Robert Chamness & Roxie Minnie Que Myers Kirkland Chamness. He was married to the late Verta Lou Coker Chamness who passed on February 11, 2017. Rev. Chamness served the Lord as a pastor at Langston, Haney Chapel, Mt. Moriah, Hay Good United Methodist Church, Pleasant Grove, Mt. Oak United Methodist Church, Freeman Chapel First Congregational Methodist Church & Grace Church from 1964 – 2016. He attended Eddy Baptist Church.
Rev. Chamness is survived by his son & daughter-in-law, Robert Lee Chamness & Sandy; daughters & brother-in-law, Janet C. Kelly & Ralph, Susan Ann Chamness; daughter-in-law, Robyn Mitchell Chamness; grandchildren, Nickey Albert Chamness & Angie, Layla Chamness Foshee & Scotty, Dustin Hollaway, Audra Nelson & Travis, Melanie Nelson; great grandchildren, Hannah Grace Chamness, Cordell Minor, Payton Elijah Matkin. Preceded in death by his parents, Ollie Robert Chamness & Roxie Minnie Que Myers Kirkland Chamness; wife, Verta Lou Coker Chamness; son, Albert Chamness; brother, O.A. Chamness.
Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 10, 2019 at Brashiers Chapel Cemetery with Larry Dyar & Brandon Dyar, officiating. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Pallbearers will include; Jacky Chamness, Johnny Chamness, Doug Chamness, Scotty Foshee, Cordell Minor, Travis Nelson.
Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 9, 2019, at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel.
