Bessie Vandiver McCormack, 75, of Leighton, AL passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2019 of natural causes in Lakeland, FL. A memorial service will be on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 1 p.m. at Blythe Memorial Methodist Church in Leighton, AL Pastor Mark Parris will be officiating.
Bessie was passionate about her faith in the Lord and her family. She was an avid music lover who would exhaust every opportunity she got to sing one of her favorite songs. She used her creativeness that was inspired by love to make objects of her affection for her family and friends. She loved to travel, tend to garden, and bird watch. She will be greatly remembered for her infectious smile, laughter, kindness, and compassionate spirit.
Bessie was preceded in death by her father, Leander Vandiver; mother, Emogene Hatton Vandiver; brother, John Hatton, Sr.; sister, Annie Weeks; son, David McCormack, Jr.; great granddaughter, Haisley McGee.
Bessie is survived by her daughter, Emogene Negron (Danny) of Lakeland, FL; sons, Kim Wade McCormack (Kristie), Kenneth McCormack (Teresa) both of Leighton, AL; grandchildren, Amber Parker, Michille Wilkinson (Jake), Christopher McCormack Harvey, Lindsey McGee (Devin), Gregory and Michael Olmstead, and Jayla Mendoza; great grandchildren, Hayden Parker and Zoey McGee.
