Clyde Allen Harrison – Obituary

Clyde Allen Harrison, 80, of Tuscumbia, passed away Nov. 6, 2012, after a long fight with cancer and pneumonia. He was born April 5, 1932, in Colbert County.

Visitation will be Friday Nov. 9 from 2-4 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Chapel.

Funeral services will be Saturday, Nov. 10 at 11 in the chapel, burial to follow at Hopewell Church of Christ Cemetery. Officiating is Raymond Isbell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Fannie Harrison; three brothers; and three sisters.

Survivors include his wife of almost 62 years, Margaret Louise Sons Harrison; three sons, Dennis, Gene and Barry Harrison (Jennifer);

daughter, Janice Harrison Stanley (Boyd);

four grandchildren, Jeremy, Caitlyn, Cheyenne and Nicholas;

sister, Frankie Breakfield (Bill); brother, Ben Harrison;

brother-in-law, James Sons (Kitty); numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Clyde was in the U.S. Army for 21 years, and retired a Lt. Col. He served in Korea, Vietnam, and Germany. He worked for the city of Wilmington, N.C. for 13 years after he retired from service.

He loved all of his family, friends and his extended family at the Little Ryman. His greatest joy was playing the guitar and singing and being with his friends and family. He was a member of the Church of Christ faith.

Honorary pallbearers are Steve Lewis, Walter Bennett, James Lindsey, Harley Kent, Jeremy Hearn, James Sons, Harry Roberts, James (Buddy) Smallwood, James Malone and Crochen Seal.

The family would like to thank the nurses at E.C.M. hospital and the doctors where he was a patient and especially the CCU and ICU units nurses.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hopewell Church of Christ .
