Mr. Joe Boyd Vinyard, age 90, a farmer from Albertville, passed away July 14, 2019 at home under the care of Shepherd’s Cove Hospice. He was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Guntersville, a Korean War Veteran and a former member of the Mountain Valley Singers. He attended Auburn University.
He is survived by sons, Shannon Vinyard (Jan) and Steve Vinyard (Gena); Grandchildren, Brooks Vinyard (Allison) and Blake T Vinyard (Rachel); great-grandchildren, Judah, Elias and Levi.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Dot Vinyard; parents, Boyd and Irene Vinyard: sister, Margaret Nell Doyle.
Mr. Vinyard’s visitation will be from 11:30 AM- 1:00 PM on July 17 at Carr Funeral Home of Guntersville with the funeral to follow at 1:00 PM. Bro. Joel Samuels and Bro. Aaron Johnson will officiate. Pallbearers are Jack Mosley, Dale Strange, Tommy Connor, Jim Carnes, Frank Woods and Tim Riley. Burial will be at Crestview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Shepherd’s Cove Hospice or any charity of your choice
