J. Nixon of Selmer, TN departed this life on July 9, 2019 in Adamsville, TN at the age of 97 Years, 2 Months, 23 Days. She was born on April 16, 1922 in Pocahontas, TN the daughter of the late William R. Howell and Earl King Howell. She was united in marriage to Clifford Nixon on September 21, 1940. Mr. Nixon preceded her in death on October 30, 1992.
Mrs. Nixon greatly enjoyed talking to family and friends on the phone. Family said she would rather talk on the phone than watch television or listen to the radio. She could grow the very best vegetable garden and was an excellent cook, especially her dressing, pinto beans, and fried chicken. Most of all, she enjoyed he family and grandkids. She was Baptist in belief.
She is survived by three daughters, Barbara Brock of Bethel Springs, TN, Dottie Wilson and husband Clyde of Bethel Springs, TN, Donna Forsythe of Selmer, TN; four grandchildren, Joe Brock, Tina Holley, Dena McDonald, Clint Wilson; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; a sister, Jewell Waddell of Tuscumbia, AL; a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Nixon was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Beavers; a grandchild, Tony Garner; two sisters, Jessie Matlock, Lula Howell; six brothers, Velmer Howell, Enlow Howell, Clifford Howell, Lester Howell, Ben Howell, Leo Howell; sons-in-law, Donald Forsythe, Bill Beavers, and Nathaniel Brock.
