Joyce Ann Hamilton, 83 of Russellville, AL passed away on July 4, 2019 at Helen Keller Hospital in Sheffield, AL.  Born in Barberton, OH to the Late Wille and Emma (Scott) Yancey, Joyce worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for over 35 years.  She was active in various clubs and organizations including: The Akron Chapter of the NAACP-Lifetime Member, Amaranth Grand Chapter Inc., State of Ohio, Order of the Eastern Star, Mary Chapter No. 47, The National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women’s Club, Inc., The Red Hat Society, and The Widows and Widowers Club in Russellville, AL.

In October of 1956 Joyce married the love of her life, Charles L. Hamilton, Jr. and from there her life blossomed.  Their union brought two children, three grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.  Joyce was an active and vibrant spirit.  She loved to travel with her husband, family, and friends.  She was an avid shopper, and with her sister/best friend “Billie” right by her side, there was no thrift store left unturned when this dynamic shopping duo was on the scene. Joyce loved her family and took great pride in being a grandmother. The “original scrapbooker”, Joyce enjoyed collecting family memories through pictures.  She left a family legacy with all the picture books and mementos that she saved, preserved, and cherished over the years.

Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, Loving Husband of 48 years Charles L. Hamilton, Jr., Daughter Pamela Ann Hamilton, Brothers Robert and Willie Yancey, and Sisters, Beatrice Robinson, and Myrtle Yancey.

Joyce is survived by her son and caregiver Charles L. Hamilton, III of Russellville, AL, two granddaughters Jocelyn (Telly) Williams, of Columbus, OH, Tamela Simone (Rodricus) Gipson, of Bessemer, AL, one grandson Dionte Robinson, of Akron, OH, three great-grandsons Douglas Keaton, David Williams and Charles Williams of Columbus, OH, and two sweet great-granddaughters Simya and Indya Gipson, of Bessemer, AL, and Goddaughter LaJoyce (Sidney) Harris, of Ravenna, OH, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of great friends.  Joyce will truly be missed by her family and her friends.  Proverbs 31:10 reads Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies.  GOD has called a virtuous woman into his kingdom, well done Joyce, well done!
