Mrs. Catherine Isabelle Alvis, age 92, of Arab, passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2019 at Marshall Medical Center North.
Mrs. Alvis was born on October 22, 1926 in Washington D.C. to Albert Clinton Scott & Katie Corine Huhn Scott. She was married to the late Mr. James Basil Alvis, Jr. who passed in October of 2017. Mr. and Mrs. Alvis resided in Maryland until 1995 when they moved to the Arab area.
She was a member of Joppa United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Alvis is survived by her daughters & son-in-law, Beverly Berry, Barbara Crews, Georgia Alvis Long & Edward; son, Michael Alvis; grandchildren, David Berry, Eric Berry & Katherine, Chris Crews; great grandchild, Sebastian Berry. Preceded in death by her parents, Albert Clinton Scott & Katie Corine Huhn Scott; husband, James Basil Alvis, Jr.; brother, Parker R. Scott; sisters, Alberta Jones, Helen Hydinger, Margaret E. Zell.
Memorial service will be 4:00 p.m. Saturday, July 13, 2019 at Joppa United Methodist Church. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel assisting the family.
