On Tuesday, July 4, 2019, Virginia Brown Noe of Huntsville, Alabama, loving mother of two children, passed away at the age of 82.

Virginia was born January 29, 1937 in Cherokee County, Alabama. She earned her bachelor’s in education at Jacksonville State in 1959. She moved to Huntsville in 1961 and taught school for twelve years. She married Earl Noe on June 6, 1970. They raised two children, Amelia and David. In 1974, they bought Zesto Drive-in in 1974 and ran it for 17 years. She had a love for arranging flowers and ran Virginia’s Flower Shop for close to a decade.

Virginia was a wise, warm, compassionate woman. She was a second mother to many, and people were naturally drawn to her to seek council and consoling. She was a devout believer in the Word, yet she never cited herself as an example of piety. Christ was her example.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Coy and Eunice Brown; her husband, Earl Noe; and five older brothers. She is survived by her daughter, Amelia Mathison (Jim); son, David Noe (Mary); grandsons, Justin Mathison and Jay Mathison; and eleven nieces and nephews to whom she was known lovingly as “Aunt ‘Ginner.”

Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 12:30 p.m. There will be a private family burial.
