Robert Franklin “Doug” Hodge, age 77 of Vinemont, entered into rest on July 2, 2019 at Cullman Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born April 12, 1942 in Winston County. Robert had the mind of a child, and a generous heart of gold. He enjoyed attention and appreciated anything anyone did special for him. He enjoyed family cookouts, road trips of any kind, trips to the Zoo, and visits to the Tennessee Aquarium. He loved to draw and color things from his memory. Robert loved God and was ready to fly with the angels.

Family will receive friends Sunday, July 7, 2019 from 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm at Nichols Funeral Home in Addison, where the Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Brother Travis Allred and Brother Scotty Griffin will officiate.

Robert is survived by his brothers, David Harlan (Lenora) Hodge, Charles Edward Hodge, and Roger Dale Hodge; sisters, Margaret Hodge Smothers and Judy Hodge Overton; six nephews; and five nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Harley Hodge and Lola Mae Duke-Hodge and brothers, Joe Wallace Hodge and Donald Keith Hodge.
