Linda Reid Ables, 71, died Monday, July 1, 2019 at her residence. She was born in Tishomingo County, MS and worked in garment manufacturing. She was a member of Jordan Hill Church of God of Prophecy.
Services will be Wednesday, July 3, 2 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Belmont, MS. Burial will be in Joel Cemetery, Dennis, MS. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS will be in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by her husband of fifty-five years – Jasper Ables, Dennis, MS; three children – Joe Ables (Debbie), Lucretia Blakney and Cindy Shewbart, all of Dennis, MS; seven grandchildren – Amanda Brewer (Brad), Bradley Shewbart, Dalton Ables (Whitley), Wesley Hollis, Holden Shewbart, Alanda Johnson and John Johnson and five great-grandchildren – Alex Brewer, Anna-Bell Johnson, Braiden Henson, Kylee Eaton and Madyson Davis.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kennie Reid and Maudie Castleberry Reid, a daughter, Loretta Ables, two grandchildren, Nick Moss and Stephanie Ables, a brother, Edward Reid, a sister, Alma Sartain, her father and mother-in-law, Audie and Audrie Ables, a sister-in-law, Linda Ashley and a brother-in-law, Mike Ables.
Pallbearers will be grandsons – Bradley Shewbart, Dalton Ables, Wesley Hollis, Holden Shewbart, John Johnson and Brad Brewer.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 2, 6-9 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS.
