William Edward “Wig” Franks

William Edward “Wig” Franks, 77, died Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born September 11, 1941, to William Cletus and Mary Lois Reynolds Franks. He was a member of the National Guard for nine years. He was a life-long truck driver and a skilled carpenter. He enjoyed talking on the CB radio, and was known for his handle name, Reject.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 6, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Bro. Roger Dale Franks officiating. Burial will be in the Mantachie Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Jeannine Bell Franks; one son, Jason Edward Franks (Kristy) of Fulton; two daughters, Tammy Franks Minor (Joe) of Mantachie, and Stephanie Franks Baldwyn (Andy) of Mooreville; one sister, Donna Upton (Stanley) of Fulton; five grandchildren, Maggie Minor, Sarah Minor, Brittni Orr, Jay Franks, and Drew Baldwyn. Special nursing friends, Bridgett and B.J.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Jimmy Mike Franks; three sisters, Willene Russell, Nelda Painter, and June McMillen; and his parents.

Pallbearers will be Jason Franks, Andy Baldwyn, Joe Minor, Chris Franks, Michael Franks, and Junior Loague.

Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, and from 11:00 a.m. until service time Saturday at McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Mantachie.
