Sandra “Granny” Pierce Jones, age 70, of Spruce Pine, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2019 at her residence.
Granny was quite a character, always loved being around people, and always knew how to make someone laugh. She loved to quilt, cook, going to auctions, attending church and gospel singings. She will be remembered for her caregiving toward others. She was loved by all who knew her.
The visitation will be 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 28, 2019 at Spry Memorial Chapel, with the funeral following at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel. Officiating the service will be Bro. Ferlon Baker. Burial will be at Spruce Pine Cemetery.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 51 years, Willard Hal Jones; daughter, Kimberly Dawn Jones; grandson, James Dylan Jones (wife, Kristy); great-grandchild, Nevaeh Mysti-Jade Parks; brothers, Wesley Pierce, Bobby Pierce; sister, Letha McKinney; and several nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer & Effie Pierce; step-mother, Elsie Pierce; brother, Price Pierce; sisters, Sue Adams, Emma Jean Hines, Earline Johnson; and son, Brian Keith Jones.
The pallbearers will be Jonathon Frederick, Mitchell Key, Ryan Alexander, and Sean Mahon.
The family would like to extend a sincere thanks to the nurses and staff of Kindred Home Health, Hospice of North Alabama, and our special friends, Wanda DuBoise and Paul Mishue for the love and care of our family.
