Franklin Luna Sr., age 78, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Sunday, June 16, 2019 at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, TN. He was a native of Lawrence County, TN, retired from Murray Ohio where he was employed for 39 years, and a member of New Prospect Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Neeley B. and Mary Elizabeth Lopp Luna; four sisters, Alice Rochelle, Martha Rochelle, Dorothy Adams, and Ollie Steven; two brothers, Willie Elbert Luna and Alfred Luna; two half-brothers, Dick Luna and Lonzo Luna; and three half-sisters, Irene Lopp, Gracie Bryant and Effie Rink.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Thompson Luna of Lawrenceburg, TN; two daughters, Charlotte Lowery (Roger) of Leoma, TN and Melinda Hughes (Claud) of Leoma, TN; one son, J. R. “Popeye” Luna of Williamsport, TN; one brother, Eugene Luna of Westpoint, TN; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at Neal Funeral Home. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens at 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 19, 2019, with Jeff Smith and Leslie Shadrick officiating.
