Mrs. Mary “Annette” Helms, age 78, of the Pine Ridge Community of Morgan City area, passed away on June 11, 2019 at Huntsville Hospital.
Mrs. Helms was born on March 5, 1941 to Lee Kater Gosa and Leila Eldora Stanford Gosa in Lamar County, Alabama. Mrs. Helms was an Electronic Technician at GTE. She loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was a member of Highland Baptist Church.
Mrs. Helms is survived by her husband of 59 years, George Marion Helms; daughter & son-in-law, Sherry Helms Nin & Manuel; grandchildren, Joshua Keith Cavender, Zachary Aaron Cavender & Jessica, Antonio Alexander Nin; great grandchildren, Case Aaron Cavender, Camille Evelyn Cavender; sister & brother-in-law, Vickie Gosa Spurlin & David brother, Ned Gosa. Preceded in death by her parents, Lee Kater Gosa and Leila Eldora Stanford Gosa; son, Michael Keith Helms; brother, George Edward Gosa.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 14, 2019 at Brindlee Mtn Chapel, Morgan City with Bro. Freddy Childs & Bro. Craye Hall, officiating. Burial will be in Highland Baptist Church Cemetery with Brindlee Mtn Chapel, Morgan City & Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Pallbearers will include; Joshua Keith Cavender, Zachary Aaron Cavender, Antonio Alexander Nin, A.K. LaFarlette, Radford Hornbuckle & Will Black.
Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 13, 2019 at Brindlee Mtn Chapel, Morgan City.
