Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth Worthington Martin White will be held Saturday June 15, 2019 in the Layne Chapel at 2:00pm.  Visitation hours will be Saturday at 11:00am till time of service at 2:00pm.  Burial will follow in the Long Cemetery.

Funeral services for Mama Ruth Worthington Martin White age 95 of Hazel Green will be conducted Thursday at 6:30PM at Hazel Green Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Steve Hale and Bro. Tim Boyett officiating. She was born March 14, 1924 to W.J. and Nannie Baldwin Worthington in Van Buren County, Tennessee. Mama Ruth worked as a factory worker and with the Head Start in Van Buren County, Tennessee. In 1978 she married Haskel Deweese and moved to Hazel Green. She worked at Madison County Head Start and Castner Knott as a salesclerk from which she retired. In 1993, she married Harry White and she was the oldest member of the Plainview Church of Christ where she enjoyed being a Golden Ager and Wish Group member. She loved playing dominoes with her friends and helping at the Outreach Center. She loved her family dearly and was Mama Ruth to everyone.

She is survived by her son, Billy Eugene (Becky) Martin of Hazel Green, granddaughters, Lisa (Noel) Carper of Rome, Georgia and Marcella (Lonnie) Baker of Hazel Green, her great grandchildren, Joshua (Sara) Corder of Smyrna, Georgia and Jordan Brooke (Matt) Green of St. Augustine, Florida, Alex Baker, U.S. Army Fort Hood, Texas, Vincent Baker, U.S. Army Fort Benning, Georgia, Elijah Baker of Hazel Green and Kallan Carper of Rome, Georgia, one great great grandson, Bryson Green of St. Augustine, Florida, several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, W.J. and Nannie Worthington, two brothers, I.B. Worthington and Harold Glenn Worthington, three sisters, Pearl Hillis, Emma Worthington and Willie McCoy and three husbands, Wallace Martin, Haskell Deweese and Harry White.

Visitation will be Thursday afternoon from 2 until 6:30 at Hazel Green Funeral.
