Pauline Chance Brannon, of Donalsonville, GA, passed away on Monday, June 10, 2019 at the age of 83. Her visitation will be Thursday, June 13, 2019 from 1 to 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Donalsonville, GA. The funeral service will follow at the church at 2 p.m. with Dr. Randy Thompson of the First Presbyterian Church in Tuscumbia, AL officiating. Burial will be in Friendship Memorial Gardens.

Polly was graduated from Florida State University with a B.S. in Education. While at FSU, she was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta. Upon graduation she served as an elementary school teacher in Early County, GA. Polly later enjoyed working alongside her husband at their family business, Western Auto. In 1980, she began a career as a State Farm agent. She served as one of their first female agents and received numerous awards. Polly was a member of the First Baptist Church of Donalsonville, GA, the Donalsonville Women’s Club and other civic organizations. She was an avid reader, bridge player, golfer, hobby painter and loved to travel.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, John Jackson Brannon; her parents; and nine older siblings.

Survivors include her children, Jackie Brannon Stutts (Larry), John Jackson Brannon, Jr (Pam) and Kimberly Dean Brannon; grandchildren, Elizabeth Stutts Thompson (Scott), Rebecca Stutts Hovater (Greg), Sarah Stutts Philbin (Matt), L. Collins Stutts, II, J. Jackson Brannon, III and Emmaline Blair Brannon; great-grandchildren, Robert Cornell Thompson, Andrew Lee Thompson, Michael Gregory Hovater, Jr, Elizabeth Irene Hovater and Sarah Kathryn Hovater.

The family would like to give special thanks to Drs. Jerry Williams, Courtney Bowen, Brad McAnalley, Jack McLendon and Josh Vacik in addition to the ICU and fourth floor nursing staff at Helen Keller Hospital.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Covenant Christian School, 1900 Covenant Drive, Tuscumbia, Alabama 35674.
