FLORENCE-The Florence Alabama Electricity Department and Chris Williamson’s family recently gathered to dedicate the electrical sub-station on Enterprise Street that feeds power to the new hospital in memory of Chris.  Mayor Holt remarked, “We are truly humbled and grateful for his sacrifice, and to all of the utility workers who serve our community every day. Our prayers and gratitude will continue to be with his family and friends.”

The memorial was funded through a partnership with the Electricity Department employees and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), Local 558.

The newly placed marker in honor of Chris Williamson reads:

“A loving husband, father of three, son, brother, and dedicated member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Union 558 and Journeyman Lineman for the Florence Electricity Department.  His name will be spoken in reverence and his memory will live on in our hearts forever.”
