Debbie HinsonDebra “Debbie” Alice Hinson passed from this earthly life on June 6, 2019 after a brief illness. A Celebration of Life service will be held Sunday, June 9, 2019 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Lexington. She was born to the late Joe B. “Red” and Arthurlene Hinson of Lexington, Tennessee on June 6, 1956. Debbie grew up in Lexington and attended the University of Tennessee at Martin and Union University. She was employed at West Tennessee Healthcare for many years. Debbie’s greatest passions were her faith and her music. She was an accomplished pianist and played for First Baptist Church, her home church, for more than 41 years. She was a very active member of her church, teaching Sunday School for many years, serving in Vacation Bible School, playing for Sunday services, and accompanying both adult and student choirs. Debbie was a lifelong fan extraordinaire of Mickey Mouse and all things Mickey (but never, ever Minnie!). She cheered tirelessly, and sometimes obnoxiously, for the University of Alabama’s Crimson Tide football team. She was preceded in death by both her parents. She is survived by her uncle Mr. Thomas Williams of Memphis, TN and several cousins. Debbie did not have a large family, but counted all of her friends, fellow church members, and co-workers as family. Debbie was a cherished friend to all she met and will be dearly missed.
In lieu of flowers, friends and family have asked that memorials be directed to First Baptist Church.
