F 06.07.19 Sandra Hillman.jpgMs. Sandra Jean Hillman was born September 3, 1951 to the union of Mr. Alford E. Phillips and Mrs. Laura A. Phillips. She joined her daughter Catina Hillman and her siblings: Mr. Charles E. Phillips and Mrs. Teresa Ann Phillips Taylor in gaining her gift of eternal life on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at North Alabama Medical Center in Florence.

Mom never shyed away from the Lord. She was the embodiment of human kind: strong-willed, caring, kind, and compassionate. She was a warrior and always put the needs of others before her own. Mom enjoyed cooking and with one bite you were hooked. Mom was an amazing mother/sister/aunt and will be truly missed. Sandra met her heart disease with a challenge and without fear. Small in stature but very strong and relentless in battle, a trait that she left with all of her kids. Sandra believed whole heartedly that the Lord God did not give us the spirit of fear.

She leaves to mourn her memories, four loving and devoted children: DeWayne (Bridgette) Phillips of Muscle Shoals, Dwight (Marcella) Hillman and Marquitta Hillman; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four brothers: John H. (Tracy) Wardlow of Canton, Michigan, Alford Phillips, Carver (Karen) Phillips, all of Russellville, Christopher Phillips of Florence; two sisters: Carol Phillips and Kelia Phillips, both of Russellville; brother-in-law: Manuel Taylor of Hanford, California; nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts relatives and friends.

Public Viewing will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today, June 7 at Trinity Memorial Funeral Home, Muscle Shoals. Funeral Service will be noon Saturday, June 8 at First Missionary Baptist Church College Avenue, Russellville. Interment will follow in Phillips Cemetery- Tharptown. Mrs. Hillman will lie in the sanctuary one hour prior to the funeral service. Reverend BJ Bonner, Pastor.
