Merle Lamon

Funeral services for Merle Lamon, 93, will be Friday, June 7, at 4 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with Rev. David Kelley officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial in Roselawn Cemetery. Miss Lamon was born May 10, 1926 in Trinity, AL to Minor Orman Lamon and Ava Parker Lamon. She is survived by one sister, Burnice Lamon Lentz, of Decatur. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Maurice Lamon, and twin sister, Melba Lamon Smith. Miss Lamon served as a nurse for 45 years. She was a member of Sixteenth Avenue Baptist in Decatur. Pallbearers will be great and great-great nephews. Her nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Special thank you to her niece, Susan Smith, who was like a daughter to her, her dearest friend Doris Smith, Decatur Health and Rehab and Hospice of the Valley. Roselawn Funeral Home is assisting the family.
