Vernia “Virginia” Cook

Vernia “Virginia” Cook, 84 years old of Dothan, AL formerly of Russellville, AL, passed to her heavenly home on Friday, May 31st, 2019.

Services will be Sunday, June 2, 2019 at Akins Funeral Home. Visitation will be 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. and the funeral to follow in the Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Roger Jones officiating. Burial will be in Knights of Pythias Cemetery.

She was a devoted military wife and mother. She was a member of North Russellville Baptist Church.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, James William Cook; her daughter, Selina Joyce Cook-Williams; her parents, Robert and Nola Thomas Fuller; her sister, Bernece James; and her brother, Larry W. Fuller.

Survivors include her niece, Cindy Wade (Glenn); her nephew, Terry James (Denise); and a host of friends and family.
