FLORENCE-Casey Reed, Director of Federal Programs & Transportation, has released important information regarding transportation plans for the upcoming 2019-2020 school year. Please see Mr. Reed’s statement, below:

“The 2019-2020 school year for Florence City Schools will begin with a new Image result for ECCORide LLCtransportation provider. Florence City Schools has partnered with ECCORide LLC to provide transportation services for Florence City Schools. The students of Florence will be riding on a fleet of 2020 Model International buses. As part of FCS and ECCO Ride LLC’s commitment to safety, each bus in the new fleet will be equipped with the Bendix Wingman Advanced collision mitigation technology. “When the distance between your driver’s bus and the vehicle they’re following starts to close, Bendix Wingman Advanced provides the driver following distance alerts and, if necessary, will apply the brakes to help the driver potentially avoid the collision, or help reduce its severity.” (Bendix commercial vehicle systems LLC) The Bendix Wingman Advance also provides electronic stability control to help maintain vehicle control on wet and dry roadways.
Florence City Schools is the first district in the state of Alabama with an entire fleet of buses equipped with these enhancements. Florence City Schools and ECCORide look forward to serving the students and families of our great school district.”
