Hal Aston “Dave” Patterson, 85, went to his forever home on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at his home surrounded by loved ones.  He was a lifelong resident of Chickasaw County, MS and worked in furniture manufacturing for forty years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean War. He attended Providence Baptist Church.

Services will be Monday, May 27, 1 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, AL with Bro. Jeff Lentz, Bro. Randy Parchman and Bro. William Warren officiating. Burial will be in Holly Springs Cemetery, Hodges, AL. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by his wife and soulmate of sixty years – Bonnie Faye Patterson; daughter – Teresa Joyce Engle (Rodney) Golden, MS; grandchildren – Tanya Goodloe, Jasper, AL, Crystal McDonald, Corinth, MS, Austin Engle (Megan) Dennis, MS and Samantha McDonald, Tremont, MS; great-grandchildren – Kassy, Harley, A.V. and Jena Holcomb, Levi Engle, Katelyn Tanner and Haley Engle and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Wanza McDonald, his parents, Ray and Annie Mae Patterson, a granddaughter, Jessie Faye Engle, a grandson, Rocky Engle and siblings, Paul Patterson, James “Jimmy” Patterson, Martha Ann Mitchell and Fannie Sue Chaney.

Pallbearers will be Brian Bridgeman, John Raymond Patterson, Ronnie Mills, Tim Thorne, Tim Deaton and Harold Shotts.

Visitation will be Monday, May 27, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL.
