Charles Lynn Stanley, of Tuscumbia, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at the age of 76. His visitation will be Thursday, May 23, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will be Friday, May 24, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Jessie May officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Tuscumbia.
Charles was a mechanic and loved dirt track racing. He loved the friendships and bonds that were made while building his cars and helping others build theirs. It was more than his hobby, it was his passion.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Stovall McDonald; father-in-law, Jess McDonald; father, Basil Kerby Stanley; and sister, Jackie Rich.
Survivors include his loving wife, Dorothy (Dot) Stanley; children, Christi Stanley Stricklin, Dwannah Stanley Bange and Anthony (Tony) Stanley; brothers, Wade Stanley, Kenny Stanley and Mike Tippett; grandchildren, Dori Young, Jenna Mitchell, Henry and Timothy Stricklin and Derrick Stricklin; and 8 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to give special thanks to Amedisys Hospice and our special nurse, Katie Looney.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Bernouer, David Holt, Tommy Green, Andy Keener, Neil Johnson and Wayne Thrasher.
