Jesse Walter Zills Sr., 74, of Sheffield, died Friday, May 17, 2019. Visitation will be Monday, May 20, 2019 from 6-8 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home in Tuscumbia. His funeral service will be Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Michael Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Sheffield.
Jesse was Colbert County native. He was an Army veteran serving in Vietnam and was a Mechanic in the Army National Guard Motor pool. He enjoyed auctions and flea markets.
Jesse was preceded in death by his parents, William and Pearl Zills; spouse, Inez Zills; brothers, Tommy, Carl, Bobby, Ross, and Horace Zills; and brother-in-law, Bobby Smallwood.
He is survived by his children, Mary Ann Harper (Keith), Jesse Zills Jr., Jackie Zills, Edward Griffin, Minnie Griffin (Michael); brother, Stanley Zills Sr.; sisters, Myrtle Flanagan (Barney) and Brenda Smallwood; grandchildren, Miranda Smith (Kacey), Chazz Pate (Jessie), Dakota Harper, Bethany Griffin and Matt Hollis; and great-grandchildren, Ava and Lydia Pate.
Serving as pallbearers will be Edward Griffin, Chazz Pate, Dakota Harper, Kacey Smith, Keith Harper, Daniel Vickers, and Dewayne Patterson.
