Damer J. WilliamsDamer J. Williams, 92, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 12, 2019. Damer is survived his wife, Eva Dell Williams, of Hamilton, Alabama; his sister Mae Dean Harris, of Tremont Mississippi, many loving family members, a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 16, 2019 from 12-2 p.m. the service will follow at 2 p.m at Marion County Funeral Home with burial in the Cooper Cemetery.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers; sisters; and many other family members who he loved dearly.

Damer was born on October 1, 1926 in Marion County, Alabama, to his parents, Ben Williams and Ross Williams Locklear. He was raised in Marion County , Alabama where he went to school and worked with his family until he became a member of the United States Armed Forces. He was a seaman on the U.S Navy and served during World War II.

After being honorably discharged from the U.S, Navy, he returned to Alabama and married the love of his life Eva Dell Rye and they were happily married for 72 years.

Damer and Eva Dell moved to Michigan early in their lives where they made their home in Adrian for 45 years. He was an active member of the Church of the Nazarene and served in many capacities. He retired from General Motors in 1988 and after retirement moved back to Alabama. Damer enjoyed being outdoors, working in his yard and spending time with his family.

His family and friends will always remember him as a man who loved God and lived his life accordingly.
