A kind and gentle soul, Edwin Orlando McDaniel, 50, met his Creator on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 after a brief bout with Sepsis. Born in Panama on May 14, l968, Edwin admired his mom and dad, Shirlie (Buddy) McDaniel and Anita McDaniel. His mother died in March, 2005 and his father predeceased him on April 17, 2019 with 21 days between the death of father and only son. Edwin graduated from Tupelo High School and studied at Itawamba Community College. He worked many years in retail at Belk Department Store, a job he enjoyed. Edwin had many friends locally and in distant places around the country. He loved to maintain contact and visit with his birth family and friends in Panama. Edwin was a proud and passionate member of St. James Catholic Church in Tupelo.
A Mass will be recited on Monday, May 20, 2019 at St. James Catholic Church with Father Tim Murphy, Father Henry Shelton and Father Joseph Le officiating. Visitation will begin at 10 am at St. James. At Edwin’s request, he will be privately interred next to his father in the Corinth National Military Cemetery. Holland Funeral Directors is honored to share in the celebration of Edwin’s life.
Edwin was the last member of his family and is survived by a few cousins, many friends locally and his Panamanian friends.
