Dorothy Jean “Pudden” McAfee – Obituary

Dorothy Jean “Pudden” McAfee, 85 of Florence, AL passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2019.    Dorothy Jean was a graduate of Birmingham Southern and was a member of the KD sorority.  She was retired school teacher after 30 years of service and loved all her children throughout the years.

 

She was preceded in death by the love of her life her husband, Kenneth McAfee; loving parents, Barney and Louise Norris; sister, Mary Lichlyter.

 

Survivors include her children, Kenneth McAfee, Steven McAfee and Mary Avila (Al); grandchildren, Mary Brook Sifferman (Graig), Linsey Tanner (Beau), Ben Delano and Jebb McAfee; great-grandchildren, Riley Delano, Kenzie Delano, Maggie Sifferman, J.B. Sifferman, Tripp Tanner; several nieces and nephews; life long friends, Shirley Moseley, Joyce Ruth, Sara Jo Shearer and Margaret Andrews.

 

A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 20, 2019 at 1:00 p.m.  at Florence City Cemetery with Rev. Mark Woodruff officiating. Elkins Funeral Home, Florence is assisting the family.

 

The family would like to extend a special thanks, Amedysis Hospice of Florence, especially, Lori Mills and Leca Hutto; sitters, Peggy Balentine and Donna Holland.

 

In Lieu of flowers memorial may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospitals or the Shiners Hospitals.
