Dot DickersonDorothy Lee “Dot” Dickerson, 70, passed away peacefully Monday night, May 13, 2019, at her home with her loving family and special baby Prissy by her side. She was born August 19, 1948, to Ed and Velma Taylor. She married David Dickerson on July 20, 1967. Together they had three children, 9 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, and another one due in June. She was a loyal, caring, and hard-working wife, mother, MawMaw, and friend. She retired early after having her first stroke in 2010. She worked at Daybrite for 26 years with her many friends that she cared for and talked about often. She enjoyed spending time with her family and taking care of her grandkids, but mostly her baby Prissy. She had many plants and flowers that she loved to bring life to and nurture daily. Her favorite thing was spending time at Tunica with Debbie, her best friend of many years.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 16, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. Joseph Jones and Bro. Bubba Kennedy officiating. Burial will be in the Dorsey Memorial Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, David A. Dickerson; daughter, Michelle Sheffield (Russell); son, Matt Dickerson (Tasha); grandkids, Jennifer Langley (Ryan), Seth and Will Sheffield, Mallory, Lee Ann, and Tammy Oswalt, Bryleigh and Paisleigh Dickerson, and Blake Teeters; great-grandson, Ridge Langley; brother, James Taylor (Mary); son-in-law, Claude Oswalt; sisters-in-law, Glenda Dill (Scotty), Jeanette Hankins, and Gloria Taylor; numerous nieces and nephews; an honorary daughter, Kim Robinson; and an honorary grandchild, Summer Price.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Shelia Oswalt; grandson, Caleb Sheffield; her parents; five brothers; two sisters; one sister-in-law; three brothers-in-law; two nephews; and her in-laws, Clint and Marie Dickerson.

Pallbearers will be Dewayne Dickerson, Joey Robinson, Claude Oswalt, Seth Sheffield, Kenny Taylor, Scotty Dill, Tony Dickerson, and James Estes.

Honorary pallbearers will be Mack Gregory, Blake Teeters, and Tim Dickerson.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, at the funeral home.
