Robert James Reyer, age 74 of Athens, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2019 at his residence. Mr. Reyer was born July 20, 1944 in Limestone County to Robert Henry Reyer and Mary Lou Hastings.
Funeral services for Mr. Reyer will be held Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at Oakdale Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. with Rick Cantrell, Toney Wales and Greg Patrick officiating. He will lie in state from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 14, 2019 from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will be in Hastings Cemetery.
He was a member of Oakdale Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Gayle Reyer; daughters, Jammie Patrick (Greg), Pam Wales (Toney) and Melissa Kieff (Danny); sons, Chad Reyer and Jason Reyer; 7 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Turner.
Preceded in death by his son, Andy Bass.
Pallbearers are Jason Reyer, Chad Reyer, Will Patrick, Christian Kieff, Ryan Lee, Nathan Dunnavant, Preston Potter and Danny Kieff.
