Willie Pearl Thompson – Obituary

Willie Pearl Thompson, 88, died Saturday, May 11, 2019, at the North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice Unit. She was born November 9, 1930, to Ed and Eunice Cockrell Christian. She attended Center Star Methodist Church. She worked at Mantachie Manufacturing, Super Sagless, and, along with her husband, owned and operated chicken houses. She was a homemaker, enjoyed working crossword puzzles, working with her flowers, and especially loved her grandchildren.

Services will be at 1:00 p. m. Tuesday, May 14, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Bro. David Turner officiating. Burial will be in the Center Star Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband of 68 years, J.T. Thompson; two sons, Danny Mac Thompson (Doris) of Unity, and Jason Thompson (Krystal) of Mantachie; one daughter, Patty Richey (William) of Tupelo; six grandchildren, Tawana Shell (Kevin), Ryan Thompson, Rusty Thompson, Campbell Thompson, Brandy Smith, and Michelle Richey; eight great grandchildren, Abby Oliver, Ally Oliver, Maddie Estes, Keely Martin, Chloe Watts, Ethan Watts, Jaycee Thompson, and Cade Threldkeld; several nieces and nephews, and other family members.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Delton Christian and Rander Christian; five sisters, Halivee Christian, Reba Rudisill, Jewel Lesley, Clytee Smith, and Travis Shields; and her parents.

Pallbearers will be Rusty Thompson, Ryan Thompson, Randall Taylor, David Brown, Gary Anderson, and Jimmy Anderson.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Tuesday at McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Mantachie.
