Charles Almond – Obituary

 Charles Almond went to be with the Lord May 9, 2019 at the age of 78. Charles was preceded in death by his parents L L Almond and Corine Almond and brother Jimmy Almond. Charles is survived by his wife Sue of 54 years in marriage, son Stephen, daughter-in-law Deanna Almond and three grandchildren Christopher Almond, Andrew Almond and Selah Almond. Sisters Betty Sue Graves, and Barbara Hunt and many other beloved relatives.

Charles was a Designer and worked for General Electric Corporation and Damier Chrysler Corporation, where he received may awards recognizing his accomplishments.

Charles was saved as a child and became a deacon  at Westlawn Baptist church at the age of 27. He served there as Bus Captain and the treasurer. Later at Heritage Baptist Church he served as deacon,bus captain as well as working with the Royal Ambassadors Boys. He served over 20 years in the bus ministry loving on children and senior adults.He always had his son and some of Steve’s friends there by his side.He was always faithful to the house of God being there most every time the doors were opened. He is a member of The Rock Family Worship Center.

Charles was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. A man of integrity, a man of his word who always put his family first.
Charles favorite pastime was attending the sports events of his son and grandchildren over the years. He was always there supporting them and cheering them on. The grandchildren always knew they were a priority in his life.

Charles will be missed and will be remembered for always being there for his family.

Visitation will be held at Spry Funeral Home of Huntsville on Saturday, May 11, 2019 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am. Services will follow the visitation at 11:00am in the Spry Funeral Home chapel. Burial will follow in Faith Memorial Park.
