FLORENCE-A historical re-enactment of Martha Crawley, a settler hostage, brought to a Chickasaw Village; an incident that led to the 1813-1814 Creek War took Friday May 3, 2019  for schools and Saturday May 4, 2019 for the public. The event was held in McFarland Park in Florence, Alabama. Partners are City of Florence, Florence Parks & Recreation, and Florence Lauderdale Tourism with MS Choctaw, Oklahoma Chickasaw, and Poarch Creek participants with 7th Infantry Living History soldiers and a keelboat from Arkansas. This event was part of the Alabama Bicentennial…Celebrating Alabama’s 200th birthday.
