William Clyde Snoddy – Obituary

William Clyde Snoddy, 92, of Rogersville died Saturday, May 04, 2019, at his residence.  Visitation will be Tuesday, May 7, 2019, 3-5 PM at Rogersville United Methodist Church.  Funeral service will follow at 5 PM with Rev. James W. “Vic” Vickers and Jamey Cosby officiating.  Burial will be at Oliver Beddingfield Cemetery.   Elkins East Chapel is assisting the family.

Mr. Snoddy was a member of Rogersville United Methodist Church.  He served in the US Navy during WWII.  He was a member of the Rogersville Masonic Lodge #147.  He was a member of the Carpenters Local #1209 and retired from TVA.

Mr. Snoddy was preceded in death by his wife Betty Jean Hudson Snoddy; parents, Clyde Patrick and Vernon Priscilla Smitherman Snoddy; siblings, Virgil Clarence Snoddy, Annie Mae Waddell, James Arlee Snoddy, Paul Crafton Snoddy, David Franklin Snoddy, Johnny Morris Snoddy, and three infants.

Mr. Snoddy is survived by his loving daughter, Denise “Fruitsie” Snoddy Ells; grandson, Blake Ells; sisters, Frances Leano Ingrum, Sara Helen Alexander, Shirley Priscilla Smith (Bobby), and Lillie Doris Bates (Shorty); several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Phillip Alexander, Wayne Snoddy, Terry Ingrum, Jeff Ingrum, John Belue, and Mike Roberson.  Honorary pallbearers will be Clyde Young Alexander, Bryan Butler, and Van Holland.
