Edna Mae Barnes – Obituary

Edna Mae Barnes, 95, of Iuka, MS, died Monday, April 29, 2019, at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth. Mrs. Barnes was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. She was a true patriot and was a great supporter of the U. S. military. She loved quilting, cooking, and canning. She also enjoyed yardwork, flowers, and gardening. She is survived by her nephews, Harold Brown and Dennis Brown, both of Sheffield, AL, along with numerous other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orby Barnes; her parents, Sam and Mattie Reece Brown; four brothers, Clarence, Charles, Herman, and Marcus Brown; and a sister, Minnie Louis Brown. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Thursday, May 2, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Bro. Bobby Johnson. Interment will follow in Old Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers include Sam Hampton, Mike Ortner, Martin Wright, Bradley Sparks, Dylan Sparks, and Harold Dodson. Alex Hampton will serve as honorary pallbearer. Visitation is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home on Thursday.
