Faris E. Taylor – Obituary

Mr. Faris E. Taylor of Russellville, Alabama passed away April 29, 2019 at Russellville Hospital at the age of 90. A life-time resident of Franklin County, Alabama, he was a member of North Highlands Church of Christ and a lifetime member and founder of Waterfall Valley Hunting Club. He was a retired park ranger with Bear Creek Development Authority.
Visitation with family and friends will be Thursday, May 2, 2019 at Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville, from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. with funeral services beginning at 4:00 P.M. in the funeral home chapel. Officiating will be Trae Durden. Serving as pallbearers will be Abraham Goggans, Daniel Goggans, Joseph Goggans, Clayton Hellums, Mike Boutwell, Brent Overby, Dan Rice, and Tyler Williams. Honorary bearer will be Amos Malone. Burial will be in Franklin Memory Gardens, Russellville.
Mr. Taylor is survived by his wife Mildred “Millie” Entrekin Clement Taylor; daughter, Kathy Hester (Gerald); son Neal Taylor (Pam); stepson Stan Clement (Lisa); sister-in-law: Martha Sparks Lindsey, and Guyuna Taylor; brothers-in-law: Amos Malone and Fred Mitchell; grandchildren: Leigh Hester Rice (Dan), Amy Hester Overby (Brent), Melanie Taylor Hellums (Clayton), Greta Taylor Boutwell (Mike), Abraham Goggans (Kirstie), Daniel Goggans (Tessa), and Joseph Goggans (Leah); 16 great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were his wife Doris Sparks Taylor; parents, Riley and Dessie Taylor; sisters, Alta Mae Grissom, Venus Hester, and Helen Mitchell; brother Thomas Taylor; and sister-in-law Billie Malone.
The family extends a special thanks to the nursing staff at Russellville Hospital and Mike Boutwell, caregiver.
