James Edward Maples, 80, of Joppa passed away Wednesday April 24, 2019 at Cullman Health Care.
Mr. Maples was born July 25, 1938 in Madison County to Owen Dunk Maples and Irene Scaggs Maples. He worked for Vulcan Material as a heavy equipment operator until his retirement. He was married to Ruby Nell Nix for 44 years. He enjoyed working in the yard and spending time with his family, especially family reunions.
He attended Joppa Church of God.
Mr. Maples is survived by his wife: Ruby Nix Maples; his sisters and brother-in-law: Luzene Johnson and Clayton and Myra Paco and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 11:00 am Saturday April 27, 2019 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel with Brothers: Jimmy Hamaker and Issac Gilbreath, officiating. Burial will be in Rice Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Pallbearers will be Michael Nix, Jason Nix, Randy Johnson, Levi Gilbreath, Issac Gilbreath and Christopher Gregg.
Visitation will be 9:00 am – 11:00 am Saturday April 27, 2019 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, prior to the service.
